J.D. Irving, Limited’s Sawmill division, has achieved the lowest Recordable Incident Rate (RIR) in the division’s history for the most recent reporting period.

The RIR for period ten, which runs from September 10th to October 7th, is 1.9 and Lost Time Incident Rate (LTIR) stands at 1.0. The division has demonstrated a 50 percent reduction in RIR over the previous period.

"This accomplishment not only reflects the hard work and dedication of the entire team, but it also takes us closer to achieving our strategic objective of zero critical injuries across our operations," said Daniel Couturier, the Director of Health and Safety for the Sawmill division. "In addition to the historically low RIR, we have seen improved rates in various key safety metrics. It is a testament to our continuous improvement efforts and a clear message that every employee’s well-being is our top priority."
