Klabin, a leading Brazilian producer of packaging solutions, celebrates the operational launch of its highly anticipated Figueira Unit in Piracicaba, São Paulo.

This state-of-the-art facility boasts a remarkable annual production capacity of 240,000 tons of corrugated board packaging and positions Klabin to become a major force in the packaging industry.

The Figueira Unit represents a significant commitment from Klabin, with a total investment of R$1.6 billion. This strategic move strengthens Klabin's position in the packaging market, enabling them to reach a total annual corrugated board conversion capacity of 1.2 million tons.

While starting with a single corrugator and four top-of-the-line printers operational, the Figueira Unit is designed for future expansion. Construction and installation of a second corrugator and additional printers will be completed throughout 2024. This phased approach ensures a smooth transition and allows Klabin to meet growing market demands.

Production is expected to reach 70,000 tons in 2024, with a projected ramp-up to full capacity by 2026.

The Figueira Unit reflects Klabin's commitment to innovation and sustainability. Integrating cutting-edge technology, the operation features a high degree of automation and utilizes advanced equipment. This focus on technology translates to increased safety, improved product quality, enhanced operational performance, and reduced costs.

Klabin's vision extends beyond the current project. The expansive 1.17 million m² site offers ample space for future capacity expansion in both recycled paper and corrugated board packaging, solidifying Klabin's position as a leader in the Brazilian packaging industry.

“The Figueira Project marks a pivotal moment for Klabin as we expand and solidify our presence in the packaging sector," said Douglas Dalmasi, Director of Packaging Business at Klabin. "This state-of-the-art facility allows us to offer maximum operational efficiency, strengthen relationships with existing clients, and reach new markets with cutting-edge technology and additional capacity.”
