While earning a post-degree diploma in Human Resource Management and Leadership from Camosun College, Monika committed herself to enriching the student experience.

She advocated for her peers and worked to help solve challenges faced by post-secondary students. “I believe that fostering an inclusive environment and embracing diverse perspectives is key to creating strong communities.” She was acknowledged for that work when she was recently awarded The Lieutenant Governor’s Medal for Inclusion, Democracy, and Reconciliation.

Monika joined Paper Excellence as an HR Generalist co-op student in May 2022. She was then offered a full-time role that September. As part of her job, Monika organizes long service events and has revitalized retirement celebrations at mill which ties back to her work at Camosun. “It is so vital to honour the dedication and commitment of the employees who have played an instrumental role in making the mill a success. I believe that these initiatives help increase overall morale and motivation among the employees and that helps make future collaborations dynamic and successful.”
