As reported by Le Nouvelliste, the return to the negotiation table on Monday proved to be beneficial for the approximately 250 unionized workers at the Kruger-Wayagamack plant in Trois-Rivières.

They had been on strike since June 1st, but an agreement in principle was reached at the end of the talks.

"The agreement in principle was reached around 11 p.m. We should have a meeting by the end of the week," confirmed Joël Vigeant, the national representative of Unifor.

However, despite ten days of intensive negotiations at the end of May, an agreement could not be reached on issues such as salaries, which led the members of the Unifor union to initiate an unlimited strike at noon on June 1st.
