FPInnovations’ most attended and anticipated annual course, the Pulp, Paper, and Bioproducts course, will take place from October 7 to 11, 2019 at FPInnovations’ Pointe-Claire, Quebec location.

The week-long course hit a record attendance last year and featured more than 25 speakers leading presentations, discussions, hands-on workshops and interactive laboratory demonstrations on the building blocks of the pulp and paper industry.

FPInnovations’ industry-specific knowledge and experience adds value and insight to this course. Through presentations and hands-on demonstrations, the Pulp, Paper and Bioproducts Course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of pulp and paper manufacturing, as well as an introduction to the emerging bioproducts industry.

The course attracts a wide range of professionals, including newly hired engineering interns, process engineers, technical staff, and sales representatives.

The course covers subjects including:

Basic concepts of wood chemistry, pulping, paper-making and paper properties.
Pulp and paper manufacturing processes, from raw materials to final products.
How Canada works efficiently as a responsible forest-resource developer by regulating and monitoring possible negative impacts to forest ecosystems from pulp and paper production to ensure a healthy environment and sustainable production.
How the properties of products can be modified through different combinations of pulping, other processing methods, and treatment conditions.

The training course can be used to fulfill the professional development requirements for some professional designations, such as engineers. A certificate will be issued to each participant after the training course. Please note that the course will be given in English.
