Roger Malaison is a published author, a former mayor of Kénogami (Quebec) and a European consultant to the paper industry.

His storied career began in 1944 when he joined Resolute – then known as Price Brothers– as a paper miller at the Kénogami mill. He eventually worked as a paper machine foreman and trainer at the mill, retiring in 1987 after 43 years of service to the company.

For his 90th birthday, Mr. Malaison’s one request was to visit the Kénogami paper mill. On July 18th, Quality and Services Director Jean-François Sauriol provided a tour of  the mill, recognizing the significant role Mr. Malaison played in the company’s decision to manufacture supercalendered paper – a result of a visit of a Dutch mill that produced circulars with this specialized paper and bringing home paper samples for the mill’s sales team to study.

General Manager Stéphane Deshaies presented Roger Malaison with a plaque commemorating his years of service to Resolute and for his contributions to the Kénogami community.
