Timber industry has promise of potential pellet plant after year of ups and downs

The Minnesota timber industry had a mixed 2020. Local producers like the PotlatchDeltic facility near Bemidji had a good year thanks to higher demand for lumber, while paper mills saw declines.

Another 2020 development was the ongoing discussion of bringing a wood pellet plant to Bemidji, as well as Grand Rapids, which uses leftover lumber products.
