With the deal, Paper Excellence gains bigger entry to U.S. market with Domtar's extensive investments in the manufacture of packaging products.

Richmond-headquartered Paper Excellence, British Columbia’s biggest pulp and paper producer, has struck a US$3 billion deal to buy rival Domtar, the formerly Montreal-based forestry giant now headquartered in South Carolina.
